Budget 2023-24 - Changes to MBS Specialist Items
The Society would like to highlight to Members the changes to specialist items on the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), announced by the Australian Government as part of the 2023-24 Budget.
The Department of Health has provided two fact sheets with detailed information on the changes.
Teams across the Medicare Benefits and Digital Health Division will be implementing these changes.
The Department will consult with relevant stakeholders on the implementation arrangements, including finalising item descriptors and developing explanatory material for practitioners.
