Entecavir Supply Issue in Aotearoa New Zealand

For our Members in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pharmaceutical Management Agency, better known as Pharmac, has advised that there is a temporary supply issue affecting Entecavir Sandoz 0.5 mg tablets. 

Pharmac has advised that Entecavir Mylan is a suitable alternative and will be funded from 1 December 2022. 

People using Entecavir Sandoz will need to change to an alternative brand to continue access to this medication. Entecavir Mylan is expected to be available to patients from mid-December 2022, coinciding with when Entecavir Sandoz will become unavailable.
