Trainee Week 2022 Award Recipients

USANZ Trainee Week 2022 wrapped up on Thursday 24 November after an exciting four days of educational sessions and social activities in Melbourne. Thanks to the convenor, Dr Kathryn McLeod, and all the people who contributed their time and experience to deliver such a successful event.

During Trainee Week each year, the Board of Urology presents the Frank Gardiner Award for the highest mark in the Surgical Science Examination in Urology. This award was established in recognition of Professor Gardiner's extensive and lengthy involvement in the development of the SSE (Urology) and other examinations.

The Society would like to warmly congratulate Amer Amin, who was awarded the Frank Gardiner Award for the highest mark in the SSE (Urology) June 2022, and Cameron Parkin, who was awarded the Frank Gardiner Award for the highest mark in the SSE (Urology) October 2022. Well done on your impressive achievements!

After a 2 year hiatus, 'Masters of the Uroverse' was once again a highlight of the Trainee Week program. Each Training Region fielded a team of four Trainees, with a representative from SET1, SET2, SET3, and SET4. In the Section vs Section quiz, South Australia won the battle of the Uroverse and claimed the winning title. Their team name was PI-RADS of the Caribbean and you can see that they really dressed up for the occasion! Congratulations to Andy Moe, Richard Hoffmann, Jo Lynn Tan and Tom Cundy.
