Award Information

The Robbie Roberts Prize is awarded to the best registrar presentation. The prize comprises a certificate, along with $2,500 (paid after the Meeting) towards expenses for registration/travel to the USANZ Annual Scientific Meeting.

Guest Speaker: John Yaxley

A/Prof John Yaxley has a special interest in the management of prostate cancer. He has performed over 3500 radical prostatectomy procedures, including ~1500 with robotic assisted laparoscopic techniques. He has also performed over 1200 prostate brachytherapy procedures. A/Prof Yaxley was a co-investigator in the first randomised open versus robotic radical prostatectomy trial published in the Lancet journal. A/Prof Yaxley is a past Chairman of the USANZ Northern Section and has published over 165 manuscripts in international peer reviewed journals. He is a reviewer for many international urology journals and is on the Editorial Board of the journal Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases. His current interest is in focal therapy using irreversible electroporation techniques for localised prostate cancer.
