Dennis Deane Arnold Prize

This Prize was established through a bequest by Dr Dennis Deane Arnold, a much-respected member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand who died in 2024. Dennis made significant contribution to the Society, including his service as Secretary (1966 to 1969), President (1981-1982) and Convenor of the 1982 Annual Scientific Meeting in Canberra. The Dennis Arnold Prize was established by Dennis to reward a member who has achieved outstanding laboratory-based research of a urological nature.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The research must be laboratory-based research of a urological nature.
  • Applicant must be a USANZ Member at the closing date specified in the call for applications issued by USANZ.
  • The applicant must have:
    • presented their research at the USANZ Annual Scientific Meeting or the meeting of another international urological society that took place in the same year as the Closing Date; or
    • been accepted for presentation for either the USANZ Annual Scientific Meeting or the meeting of another international urological meeting that will take place in the same year as the Closing Date.
  • Applications will not be considered from members if:
    • the applicant has not paid all debts due to USANZ before the Closing Date;
    • the application is received after the advertised Closing Date or is incomplete;
    • the applicant has been a previous recipient of this Prize; or
    • the applicant has submitted an application for USANZ membership but has not been approved for membership by the Closing Date.

Prize Value

The Prize has been established in perpetuity, meaning that only the interest from the Corpus will be made available for disbursement. The current value of the Prize is $2,500 (excluding GST).
