Senior Staff Specialist - Urology

Launceston General Hospital invites applications for a Consultant Urological Surgeon to join a team of 4 Urologists, supported by registrars and a clinical nurse specialist.

It is a fixed-term (3 year), full-time day worker with on call, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Serving a population of approximately 300,000, the unit provides a comprehensive Level 6 Urology service across North and North-West Tasmania, along with statewide sub-specialist services.

The team at Launceston is excited to launch a robotic platform and programme in July 2025, enhancing surgical capabilities.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in satellite clinics and theatre lists at the Mersey Community Hospital as part of the Statewide Urological Service provision, and to participate in SET Registrar training and Multidisciplinary Team Meetings. Subspecialist interests are encouraged. Experience in female urology and robotics is highly valued.

A possibility exists for the successful applicant to work in a position of a Visiting Medical Specialist or as a Staff Specialist, hours to be negotiated.
