MBS Review Team Update

The MBS Review Team has advised USANZ of the following:

This unprecedented situation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, has contributed to a postponement in the implementation of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) changes originally planned for 1 July 2020. As such, the implementation of changes to urology services will not proceed on 1 July 2020. The Department anticipates receiving formal Government agreement to implement these MBS item changes on or after 1 November 2020.

The MBS Review Team will notify the urology services stakeholders of a confirmed implementation date as soon as the decision is formalised and will provide a monthly update, to keep Members advised of progress.
