Academy of Surgical Educators Research Scholarship and Educator of Merit Awards
Nominations are now open for the Academy of Surgical Educators Educator of Merit Awards.
The awards were created to acknowledge and reward surgical educators across Australia and New Zealand. The Educator of Merit award is awarded in the following categories:
- SET Supervisor/SIMG Supervisor of the Year is to recognise an exceptional contribution toward supporting Trainees or Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) and will be awarded in each state/territory and New Zealand.
- Facilitator/Instructor of the Year is to recognise an exceptional contribution by a course facilitator/instructor teaching on Professional Development or Skills Education courses and will be awarded to one participant across Australasia.
Nominations for the Educator of Merit Awards will close on 30 March 2021. Access more information on the categories and judging criteria.
Applications are also now open for the Academy of Surgical Educators Research Scholarship.
The scholarship has been established to encourage surgeons to conduct research into the efficacy of existing surgical education or innovation of new surgical education practices and is worth $10,000. The opportunity allows for RACS members to pursue their interest in surgical education research.
