Protection of Title 'Surgeon'
On Tuesday 12 September, an amendment to the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 was passed by the Queensland Parliament.
The change means that medical practitioners will only be able to use the title ‘surgeon’ if they are registered in one of the recognised specialties of surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology or ophthalmology.
