DE&I Initiatives at ASM26

The USANZ Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee have launched two new initiatives support participation in urology by underrepresented groups. This is part of a broader aim to promote a more inclusive and equitable environment within urology.

Applications for these initiatives are now open. Applications for both initiatives close 28 November 2025.

Scholarships for First Nations Peoples

This program provides four complimentary registrations to attend the USANZ 2026 ASM. Two complimentary registrations will be offered to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants, and two will be offered to Māori and/or Pasifika applicants. This opportunity is open to interns and registrars.

Essay Competition for Medical Students

In addition, medical students in Australia and New Zealand are invited to participate in an Essay Competition on the theme of “Inclusion without Exclusion: Addressing Perceptions of Reverse Discrimination in Surgical Careers”. One successful applicant will receive complimentary ASM 2026 registration and up to $500 to subsidise travel costs.
