USANZ in the Media

Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

With Prostate Cancer Awareness Month this September, USANZ hopes to raise awareness in the media for the rising incidences of prostate cancer in younger men.

USANZ produced a media release with commentary by Damien Bolton (USANZ President) and Weranja Ranasinghe (Leader of the USANZ Genitourinary Oncology Specialty Advisory Group). USANZ thanks Damien and Weranja for providing expert opinion on this topic and continuing to advocate for prostate cancer awareness.

The release has generated the following media activity.

The Australian

Weranja featured in an exclusive article for The Australian written by Senior Health Reporter Penny Timms.

Sharing the story of Tim Weale, a man diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer at age 44, the article describes proposed changes to prostate cancer guidelines that would see Australia as the first country to introduce proactive national clinical guidelines for the early detection of prostate cancer.
