Spotlight on Urology

Spotlight on Urology takes a look at recent activities undertaken to advance urology around the world. There are several items to cover this week, including an article on Male Infertility Guidelines endorsed by USANZ. We also look at the winning article of the Asian Journal of Andrology's Outstanding Paper Award for 2025, and the upcoming GU Cast episode streamed live from EAU26.

Male Infertility Guidelines

An article has been posted in Surgical News on Male Infertility Matters, discussing Australia's first evidence-based Male Infertility Guidelines. These Guidelines have been endorsed by USANZ. 

USANZ Member Darren Katz provides commentary in the article which is available to read online. As stated in the RACS article, these guidelines mark a significant advance for surgeons, Trainees and researchers across the region.

Asian Journal of Andrology Outstanding Paper Award

The Asian Journal of Andrology (AJA) has established an Outstanding Paper Award, recognising papers published in the journal of significant quality, impact and coverage.

The following paper was awarded the AJA Outstanding Paper Award for 2025: Psychological, social, and sexual challenges affecting men receiving male infertility treatment: a systematic review and implications for clinical care.

Congratulations to authors Winston Wu, Justin La, Kathryn M Schubach, Daniel Lantsberg, and Darren J Katz for this recognition of your contribution to the Andrology research field.

GU Cast at EAU 2026

GU Cast will be brought to an international stage at EAU 2026, with Declan Murphy and Renu Eapen hosting a live event at the conference. For Members attending EAU26, this event will be held on Sunday 15 March 2026 from 5:15-6pm in the Orange Area, eURO Auditorium 2.
