National Workshop for Surgical Robotics
In 2019 The Health Technology Reference Group, a sub-committee of the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council, agreed to host a National Workshop for Surgical Robotics. The agreement was in response to members recognising the need for a nationally consistent approach to the governance and evaluation of robotic surgery.
The original face-to-face March workshop was cancelled due to the pandemic and the HTRG have decided to hold a virtual workshop to provide a forum where stakeholders can lay the groundwork for a minimum data set and an approach to credentialing, education and training for surgical robotics.
The HTRG extends the invitation to all interested USANZ Members to attend the workshop, encouraging widespread clinical engagement will ensure a range of opinions are captured and considered.
Two virtual sessions will be held on Monday, 16 November 2020:
- Session 1: 10:00am - 11:30am AEDT
Develop national consensus on a minimum data set to align research efforts nationally. - Session 2: 1:00pm - 2.30pm AEDT
Determine a national approach to credentialing, education and training for robotic surgery.
Participants may register for either or both sessions. Your participation in this event provide invaluable information which will contribute to improving outcomes for hospitals, surgeons and patients.
Please register for the workshop by 9 November 2020. Once registered you will be sent a link to access the SharePoint site for the workshop with additional information.
Please direct all inquiries via email to the event organiser.
