Survey: Optimising Prescribing in Older Surgical Inpatients

Dr Bonnie Liu, Staff Specialist Geriatrician at Royal North Shore Hospital and PhD candidate at the University of Sydney is looking at prescribing in older surgical inpatients.

The study is looking to recruit doctors looking after surgical inpatients in Australia, to complete a brief survey on their levels of confidence with deprescribing (supervised withdrawal of inappropriate medications).

This study has been approved by the Northern Sydney Local Health District Human Research Ethics Committee. The Society encourages USANZ Members to participate in this survey. All participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous.

The survey consists of questions on demographics followed by 15 questions on confidence in deprescribing in particular circumstances. It is anticipated that the survey will take around 3 minutes to complete. Participants can opt-in/out of further participation.
