USANZ in the Media
Last week we announced USANZ's media release about fast-tracking overseas medical specialists.
Further to the coverage we have previously reported, Canberra Times has now published an Opinion Editorial by USANZ President Prof Helen O'Connell AO. The article, titled "Fast tracking foreign specialists can have unwanted consequences", talked about the potential risks to healthcare standards and the fact that overseas surgeons are unlikely to work in regional and rural areas. Helen calls for "a collaborative approach... between government, medical regulators and colleges."
