Fellow - Urology

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Urology Fellow.

This is a 12-month full time position incorporating clinical, research and education. The prospective Fellow is a medical graduate who has completed or about to complete an approved Urology surgery training program. The role bridges the gap between Senior Registrar and Consultant, focusing on consolidating specialist skills in complex urological surgery, research and clinical leadership.

The clinical exposure includes outpatient and surgical management. Fellows will have the opportunity to run a supervised new patient clinic running alongside a trained consultant. They will have the capacity to operate independently on a parallel Fellows list. Along with emergent presentations, the role will also include endourology, urologic oncology, reconstructive urology and a wide range of urological pathologies.

The Fellow will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research projects, present at conferences, and contribute to academic publications, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. The Fellow Urology provides leadership in clinical services of Urology that is innovative, encourages participation in treatment and care aimed at achieving demonstratable improvement in patient outcomes.

The Fellowship will incorporate regular urological education. This education program will complement the training and non training Registrar education providing a platform for knowledge sharing, case discussions, and critical evaluation of current practices. Such educational sessions are instrumental in nurturing the next generation of Urology specialists.  The Urology fellow reports to the Medical Director Urology.
