ABC Radio National Health Report

USANZ Member and Past President Prof Helen O'Connell AO recently appeared on the ABC Radio National Health Report. 

The episode, aired on Saturday 29 March 2025, featured a segment on 'Maintaining sexual function after vaginal surgery'. Helen discussed a new study looking at the clitoris following prolapse surgery.

The segment, which runs for 8 minutes and 5 seconds, is available to stream online.

ANZJS Urology Deputy Editor

Following a call for Expressions of Interest in March, the USANZ Board of Directors has selected a new USANZ Representative to join the ANZ Journal of Surgery (ANZJS).

Congratulations to Prof Shomik Sengupta, who has been selected for the role of Urology Deputy Editor.

Shomik will join Dr Amanda Chung, the Lead Speciality Editor, on the editorial team.

EAU Honorary Member Award

At the recent European Association of Urology (EAU) 2025 Congress, USANZ Member Dr David Winkle was awarded as an EAU Honorary Member.

This award reflects the strength of the bond between USANZ and the EAU, one which continues to develop. Additionally, it recognises the bridges which have been forged between the EAU and Asian urology, as David is a Past President of the Urological Association of Asia (UAA).

It is wonderful to see USANZ Members recognised for their achievements internationally. Congratulations, David!
