Celebrating USANZ Members
Urological Research and the History of Sex Toys
The Sydney Morning Herald recently published an article on the history of sex toys, notably highlighting the work of USANZ Past President Prof Helen O'Connell AO.
While the article discusses a history which spans 28,000 years, it highlights Helen's significant medical contribution as the first person to fully map the clitoris in 1998 and the wider implications of this research.
The article, titled "What women want: How pleasure toys went mainstream", was published on 11 August 2025 by Lauren Ironmonger.
