Hugh Johnston Travel Grant

Applications for the Hugh Johnston Travel Grant by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) are now open. The grant, valued at $10,000, supports RACS Fellows and SET Trainees to take time away from clinical positions so that they can travel to gain specialist knowledge and expertise. This grant arose from a bequest of the late Eugenie Johnston in memory of her late husband, Dr Charles Hugh Johnston.

In 2023, the successful candidate was USANZ Member, Dr James Churchill, who used the grant to travel to the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, where he undertook twenty months of post-fellowship training in urologic oncology.. You can read more about Dr Churchill's experiences in a previous USANZ announcement.

Applications close Monday 6 May 2024. Further information about the grant, including application requirements and the selection process, can be found on the RACS website.
