Pan Cancer Initiative - Consultation on Patient-Reported Outcome and Experience Measures
The Pan Cancer Initiative is currently undertaking work to achieve consensus on a core set of nationally agreed and standardised patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and patient-reported experience measures (PREMs) across cancer types. This work is being undertaken in partnership between Movember and Cancer Australia.
A series of workshops will be held to better understand stakeholders' perspectives and insights. The workshops will be held virtually from February 2025, with a duration of approximately 2 hours.
The focus of this work is establishing generic PROMs and PREMs for use in cancer care across cancer types, with the ultimate goal of developing a national benchmarking platform. The objectives of this work are to:
- Collect perspectives and insights from diverse stakeholder groups regarding domains or concepts that they believe are most important to prioritise for use of generic PROMs and PREMs.
- Understand the biggest barriers and potential considerations for the implementation of PROMs and PREMs across the Australian cancer care sector.
- Utilise the outcomes of the workshops to inform the development of strategies for generic PROMs and PREMs domains and tools selection for achieving consensus on a core set of nationally agreed and standardised PROMs and PREMs across cancer types.
In order to ensure manageable numbers, while also ensuring representation across cancer Clinical Quality Registries (CQRs), a maximum of three people associated with each CQR are invited to attend these workshops.
As of 7 February 2025, new workshop times have been added to reflect significant interest in this work. If you are interested in contributing and have not already signed up for a workshop, please register below.
