Update on ZOLADEX Implant Access in Australia

AstraZeneca has provided another update for healthcare professionals regarding access to the ZOLADEX 3.6mg implant in Australia.

This follows previous announcements about access, shared in UroNews on 1 May and 19 May.

From 1 November 2026, the ZOLADEX® (goserelin) monthly (3.6mg) implant will be unavailable on the PBS in Australia. AstraZeneca will provide the Zoladex monthly (3.6mg) implant at no cost for Australian patients who have no other suitable treatment options, through the Zoladex Continuity Program for: 

• Patients prescribed the Zoladex monthly (3.6mg) implant; and
• New patients who need to commence the Zoladex monthly (3.6mg) implant treatment after 1 November 2026.

There are no changes until the end of October 2026. From 1 November 2026, the Continuity Program is the only pathway to access the implant. This Program has been established to ensure there are no interruptions to patients' treatment. Further details about registering patients will be shared in September 2026.
