Survey - Medical Imaging Standards
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is inviting USANZ Members to take part in a survey to understand the impact of transitioning to proposed new Medical Imaging (MI) Standards, which have been in development for several years. The survey would best be completed by a person responsible for safety and quality in the organisation.
The Commission has engaged the Centre for International Economics (CIE) to prepare a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) of the transition to the proposed Standards, which requires input. The CBA analysis will be provided to the Australian Government to inform decision making on the proposed MI Standards.
This survey will ask about:
- the types of changes you would need to make to comply with the new MI Standards
- the types of costs you may incur, and
- potential benefits to medical imaging providers and patients of introducing new MI Standards.
Responses to the survey are confidential and will only be used for research purposes to undertake the cost-benefit analysis. No individual responses or identifying information will be published or distributed outside of the CIE. You may withdraw at any time by closing the survey, or skip any question, and your remaining answers will be used. It is expected to take 25-30 minutes to complete.
Survey responses are due by Friday 29 May 2026.
If you experience any issues while taking the survey, please contact Sarina Lacey, CIE Principal of Health Economics and Policy.
The final page of the survey asks if your organisation can provide more detailed cost information using a cost template developed by the CIE. Please contact Sarina Lacey directly if you can participate in this process.
