2027 RACS Younger Fellows Forum

Dr Su Mei Hoh, Chair of the RACS Younger Fellows Committee, invites USANZ Members to attend the 2027 RACS Younger Fellows Forum.

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) 2027 Younger Fellows Forum will take place Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 April 2027 at the Foothills Conference Centre, near the Yarra Ranges, Victoria prior to the 2027 Annual Scientific Congress.

The Forum brings together a diverse group of Younger Fellows across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand for networking, professional development and discussion on issues important to early career surgeons. The two-and-half day leadership retreat allows new and Younger Fellows to share ideas and experiences and engage on professional matters.

RACS Councillors including the President will attend the event. Recommendations formed by delegates are presented to RACS Council, to ensure a strong voice for Younger Fellows and to help shape the future of surgery. The Forum also includes Younger Fellow delegates from Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines and the USA to give an international perspective.

The Forum team are seeking nominations from surgeons within their first ten years of RACS Fellowship. Successful delegates receive return transfers from Melbourne, two nights of single room accommodation and meals as part of attendance. Delegates are required to fund their travel to Melbourne.

This year RACS is also providing the opportunity for senior surgeons to nominate Younger Fellows who they consider future leaders and would benefit from attending the Younger Fellows Forum. Nominations can be forwarded via email to Dr Marli Williams, the 2027 Forum Convener.
