ANZAUS Submission to Consultation on Specialist Fees

Last week, USANZ reminded Members about the Consultation on Specialist Affordability & Excessive Fees.

As part of that process, the Australian and New Zealand Association of Urological Surgeons (ANZAUS) has submitted an official response.

The submission supports fair and affordable access to specialist care, while highlighting the impact of Medicare and private health insurance rebates failing to keep pace with costs. It calls for fee assessments to consider clinical complexity, expertise and practice costs, and supports education and appropriate peer review rather than fee caps or withholding Medicare benefits.

The submission was provided by ANZAUS Chair, A/Prof Troy Gianduzzo.
