Celebrating USANZ Members
Erectile Dysfunction Campaign
The PCFNZ Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Patient Awareness Campaign has now launched.
This follows the BPH National Public Health campaign which we announced last week.
The ED campaign - 'Life After Treatment' - includes an educational roadshow in November throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, with free public information evenings for prostate cancer survivors and their families. These evenings will feature health practitioners, including USANZ members Giovanni Losco, Liam Wilson, John Tuckey, Jim Duthie, Daniel Marshall, André Westenberg, and Alastair Hepburn.
A media campaign has been released to support the roadshow, including interviews with USANZ President Helen O'Connell.

Media outlets have already promoted the story:

We will keep Members updated as media coverage of this campaign continues.
Renaming GG1 Prostate Cancers
A group of doctors are suggesting that early-stage prostate cancer known as grade group 1 (GG1) should be renamed, arguing a cancer diagonsis can actually do more harm than good in some circumstances. This is in line with other low-risk cancers of the bladder, thyroid and cervix.
This research involved a group of international health practitioners including USANZ Member, Dr Renu Eapen.
Read the original research paper in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
The story has also been syndicated in the media. Read the Sydney Morning Herald article.
