Survey - RACS - Reduction of Private Hospital Lists

RACS is currently conducting a survey about the reduction of private hospital lists.

The survey seeks to understand the impact of financial pressures on surgical lists, particularly in private hospitals. Anecdotal evidence suggests that some hospitals are reducing or removing surgical lists due to profitability concerns.

The survey asks about surgeon's experiences with surgical list reductions or removals due to financial pressures in hospitals. It explores how often this has happened, whether surgeons were given reasons (such as financial concerns or staffing issues), and whether surgeons feel financial pressures have impacted patient care. It also inquires if surgeons have been asked to prioritize more profitable surgeries or introduce co-payments when a list doesn't meet financial targets.

Responses will be confidential.

Complete the survey.
