ANZUP Launches 2024 Below the Belt Fundraiser - 111 Your Way in October

Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate (ANZUP) Cancer Trials Group is a charity that conducts clinical trials research to improve treatment of bladder, kidney, testicular, penile and prostate cancers.

ANZUP's Below the Belt campaign raises funds to support research into these cancers. This October, they are running a '111 Your Way' challenge, recognising the 111 Australian and New Zealand people who are diagnosed with a Below the Belt cancer every day. Challenge participants are encouraged to complete 111 reps, minutes or kilometres of any activity (walk, cycle, swim, or other!) that fits into their lives and skill level throughout October.

All funds raised are used for research trials across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.

Earlier this year, USANZ Member Weranja Ranasinghe was the recipient of one of these Research Grants from the Below the Belt Research Fund. Weranja's research project is titled "Evaluating the BCG-R5 immune marker to define BCG response in high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer and personalise intravesical therapy".
