USANZ & ANZUNS 2025 ASM Wrap Up

The USANZ and ANZUNS ASM in Perth last week was a highly successful event.

Thank you to ASM Convenor Shane La Bianca, Scientific Committee Chair Trenton Barrett and USANZ Conference Manager Anna Tartakovskaia for their tireless efforts over the past 12 months to bring the event together.

It was a busy four days of meetings, scientific presentations, social occasions, and other events. Some highlights are outlined below:

Incoming President

At the Gala Dinner on Monday night, Helen O'Connell AO passed the President's Medal onto Damien Bolton, who will serve as USANZ President for the next two years.

Helen received the Past President's Medal from Prem Rashid, who is now retiring from the Board after serving in the Leadership Group for six years. We thank Helen and Prem for their enduring service to the Society.

We also welcome Ashani Couchman to the Leadership Group as the incoming Vice-President.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Event

The inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Event was held during this year's ASM. Thank you to Ashani Couchman as Chair, as well as Caroline Dowling, Flávio Vasconcelos Ordones, and Eva Fong (pictured) as the panellists. The event focused on the importance of respecting diverse perspectives and experiences including, but not limited to, cultural background, gender, and the varied career paths within urology.

It was great to see so many Members in attendance at the event to support the ongoing work of the Committee.

We'd love to gather feedback on the event and future directions of the DE&I Committee. Complete the survey.

Annual General Meeting

The USANZ Annual General Meeting was convened on Saturday 1 March during the ASM. USANZ President Helen O'Connell AO and CEO Michael Nugara recognised the ongoing work of the Leadership Group, Board of Directors, Board of Urology and Management Team.
